Easter stew


A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, potatoes (floury), butter, onion (chopped), broad beans (frozen), dried thyme, ham (in broad strips), warm milk and lamb's lettuce.

Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut into pieces and boil in little water with salt in 20 minutes until tender.
  2. Melt 25 g of butter in a pan and pour in the onion, the frozen broad beans and thyme.
  3. Add salt and (freshly ground) pepper to taste.
  4. Smother the beans with the lid on the pan in 10 minutes until tender.
  5. Heat the remaining butter in a frying pan and cook the ham bars in 5 minutes until crispy.
  6. Drain the potatoes and crush them.
  7. Stir in so much milk that it becomes a smooth puree.
  8. Mix the green beans through the puree and stir in the lamb's lettuce little by little.
  9. Season the stew with salt and (freshly ground) pepper.
  10. Spoon the stew into warm deep plates.
  11. Place the baked ham on top..
