Healthy: Healthy alternatives to fries

  1. A healthy lifestyle and chips do not go well together, but it would still be a shame to say goodbye to chips! It is simply too big a part of our meal repertoire for this to be easily scrapped. Not only is it often consumed as a main meal, but it is also often eaten as a side dish with, for example, a steak. Fortunately, there are also healthy alternatives to fries that can be a very good substitute for the old-fashioned fried fries!

Actifry

  1. Preparing fries in an actifry is a healthy alternative to deep-frying. Please note, freezer bags with chips are pre-fried in oil and are therefore less healthy. Home-cut chips, or freshly cut chips from a supermarket's refrigerated section, are not pre-fried and therefore do not contain all the extra oil. Preparing fries in an actifry only requires half a spoonful of oil, while the end result is still crunchy enough! Mind you, where deep frying is done relatively quickly, the actifry needs more than half an hour!
