How many calories are there in beer, wine and spirits?

  1. A nice glass of wine or a drink from time to time is part of a healthy lifestyle, as long as it is drunk in moderation. However, is drinking an alcoholic drink also part of a diet or an attempt to lose weight? That very much depends on the drink to be consumed and the amount of drink. Although it can generally be stated that a drink such as wine or cider contains fewer calories than the stronger drinks such as rum or whiskey, the latter types are also consumed less. The total amount of calories therefore depends not only on the type of drink, but also on the amount.

Mixed drink and calories

  1. Mixed drinks are a separate category again, as they combine the calories from soft drinks with the calories from hard drinks. To arrive at the energetic content of a mixed drink, it is sufficient to add both together, although often less than a standard unit of soft drink is used in a mixed drink. The latter is the case because ice is often added to the glass in addition to the spirits, which simply means that not much soda will fit in the glass and the mixed drink tastes stronger for some as an added benefit. In general it can be said that mixed drinks have a high caloric content.
