Sausage during pregnancy
-
During pregnancy you can safely eat sausages to a limited extent. Because all frankfurters are pre-cooked, heating frankfurters is not necessarily necessary. Please note that an open tin of frankfurters is not kept in the refrigerator for too long. Also, fresh artisan sausages should not be stored for too long. It is also not advisable to eat too many frankfurters during pregnancy. The health council indicates that an amount of 50 grams of processed meats per day is already harmful. This means that about one sausage per day is a safe amount. This only applies if no other processed meats are eaten that day. This advice does not only apply to pregnant women, but also to all non-pregnant people.
