The healing power of cabbage
In 1881 a Frenchman had an accident with a car. He could no longer do anything with his leg and there were large swellings on it. The doctors decided that his leg should be amputated a day later. The man's family covered the leg with cabbage leaves. The next day all major swellings were gone and the Frenchman could suddenly move his leg again. A week later he was able to walk back to work. Cabbage leaves have served humanity a great service throughout history by making wounds heal more quickly.
