The kaki fruit is an orange fruit with a particularly delicious taste. It is the fruit of choice for a large number of people. It has no seeds and it is easy to eat. In the Netherlands you do not see it every day at the greengrocer or on the market, but in the Mediterranean area all the more. The fruit is originally from East Asia, Myanmar, the Himalayas and the high mountains of Thailand, Indochina, Korea, Japan and China. The kaki tree loses its leaves once a year and grows to a height of 10 to 15 meters.
