Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and grease a pie dish of / - 24 cm diameter.

Sift the flour over a bowl and mix in the salt.

Pour the milk and oil into another bowl. Do not stir this.

Pour this into the flour at once and stir with a wooden spoon until the ingredients are mixed.

Make two equally large balls and pack them separately in plastic foil. Put them in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.

Take a sheet of baking paper and put a dough ball on it.

Sprinkle with some flour.

Press the ball slightly flat and place a second sheet of parchment paper over it.

Now you can very easily roll out the dough to the desired size with a rolling pin.

Remove the top sheet of baking paper from the dough (this will stick a bit) and place the baking tin upside down on the dough.

Turn the shape around. The dough is immediately in the form without any hassle! .

Push the dough against the edge and cut off the excess dough.

Prick some holes in the dough with a fork.

Place a sheet of parchment paper over the dough and fill it with baking beans (rice, uncooked macaroni or dried beans also work).

Put the mold in the oven and bake it for 10 minutes.

In the meantime, repeat the steps of rolling out with the second ball until you have a thin rag (so baking does not have to be done with baking beans).

The second piece will soon be the top of the cake.

Now make the filling by putting the sliced apples in a large bowl.

Pour the lemon juice over it.

Add the cinnamon, the nutmeg and the salt.

Season with the honey and add the almond shavings.

Stir well together.

Take three-quarters of the apples from the bowl and let them warm and soften in a pan over low heat for 10 minutes.

Stir to prevent it from burning.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the rest of the apples.

Add the 2 tablespoons of wheat flour and stir the flour well through the apples. Let this cool down.

Increase the temperature of the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.

Put the apples in the mold with the cake base and cover the apples with the dough for the top.

Press the edges with a fork.

Brush the dough with the egg white and sprinkle with some cinnamon.

Make some notches with a knife so that the heat can escape during baking.

Bake for 40 minutes or until the cake is golden brown.

The dough looks a bit like puff pastry and tastes very tasty. Let the cake cool down before you cut it.
