Baguette with basil butter


A nice Mediterranean recipe. The brunch contains the following ingredients: butter (at room temperature), garlic (pressed), basil (finely chopped), red pepper, lemon (scrubbed) and baguette.

Directions

  1. In a bowl with a fork, mix the butter with the garlic and the basil.
  2. Cut the stalk of the red pepper.
  3. Halve it lengthwise and remove the seed lists with a sharp knife.
  4. Finely chop the red pepper and mix it with the butter, garlic and basil.
  5. Grate the yellow skin of the lemon with a fine grater and mix it with the butter.
  6. Season the butter with salt and (freshly ground) pepper.
  7. Leave to set in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  8. With a melon ball scoop, roll bread out of the butter and put them in a small pile on a plate.
  9. Heat the baguettes in the oven and cut them into slices.
  10. Serve with the butter.
  11. Garnish possibly with some leaves of basil..
