Sift the flour over a bowl. Mix in the gingerbread spices and the salt.

Add the syrup and butter into cubes and knead into a cohesive dough ball. Pack with cling film and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 170 ° C.

Cut the dough into 4 equal pieces and form 4 rolls of 1 cm thick. Cut the rolls into pieces of 1 cm and roll each piece into a ball.

Place the balls on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, press lightly and bake for approx. 12 minutes in the oven. Allow to cool completely.

Cut the chocolate into pieces and put in a pan or refractory bowl.

Hang the bowl in a larger pot with boiling water and let it melt (au bain-marie).

Put the cloves on a fork, dip them in the chocolate and place on baking paper until the chocolate has hardened.
