Flemish fisherman's salad with herring
A tasty recipe. The starter contains the following ingredients: fish, canned lima beans, shallots and lemons (scrubbed).
Peel the potatoes, halve them and cut into pieces of about 2 cm. Put the potato pieces in plenty of boiling water with salt and simmer for approx. 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, rinse the beans with water and let them drain well. Drain the potato pieces, mix with the beans and savory and leave to cool.
Halve the beetroot and cut into pieces. Cut the herring fillets into sloping pieces of about 1 cm and scoop together with the beetroot through the potato-bean mixture.
Peel the shallot. Stir in the shallot, gherkins and chopped parsley with the mustard through the mayonnaise.
Mix the sauce through the salad and distribute it over the plates. Add pepper if necessary.
Grate the lemon and cut into wedges. In the meantime, cut the parsley. Garnish the lemon with the parsley and serve with white bread.
