Ginger cookies with glaze

Preheat the oven to 180ºC.

Mix the flour, ginger powder, sugar and a pinch of salt.

Add the butter, syrup and baking ginger and knead into a firm dough.

Make around 20 balls of the dough, place the balls with some space on the baking sheet and press them flat.

Use the back of a knife to cut autumn shapes or use cutouts.

Bake the cookies in the oven in about 15 minutes until golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool for at least 30 minutes.

Meanwhile stir in the icing sugar with 5 tablespoons of water to a glaze.
-
Add cocoa to a portion of the glaze for a brown glaze.
-
Brush the top of the cookies with the glaze and sprinkle with nuts or sprinkles.

Let the glaze become hard.
