Remove the carrot and cut into slices. Peel the apple, remove the core and cut the flesh into cubes.

Bring the carrot covered in a pan with a bottom of water to the boil.

Add the apple after 5 minutes and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the carrot and apple are tender. Drain, but collect the cooking liquid.

Purée with the hand blender or in the food processor until smooth. Add any cooking liquid, mother or follow-on milk for the desired thickness.
