Cook the pasta shells in plenty of water with salt until al dente. Meanwhile, carefully remove the skin and the bones from the mackerel and pick the fish fillet in small pieces.

Drain the pasta and rinse under cold water. Drain well and cool to lukewarm.

Mix the pasta shells with the mackerel, cucumber, onion and fresh herbs.

Stir in the mayonnaise with the vinegar and garlic and scoop well with the pasta salad. Season everything with salt and pepper.
