A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, split peas (pack 500 g), shoulder chops (about 300 g), thin bacon strips (duopak 250 g), celeriac (peeled), winter carrots (in small pieces), leeks (washed and in pieces). ), onion (chopped), bay leaves, celery ((40 g), finely chopped), beef broth tablets and smoked sausage.

Directions

  1. Bring the peas, pork chops and bacon strips to the boil with 1.5 liters of water in a soup pan. Simmer for 30 minutes on low heat. Remove the rising foam with a skimmer. Stir the soup regularly, also over the bottom, so that it does not burn.
  2. Slice the celeriac and add to the soup together with the winter carrots, leeks, onion, bay leaves, ¾ of the celery and the bouillon tablets. Let it cook for another 25 minutes.
  3. Take the pork chops out of the soup. Remove the meat from the bone and cut it fine. Add the meat to the soup again and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cut the smoked sausage into slanted slices. Grill the slices 1 min. Per side in the grill pan. Spoon the soup into 4 plates and spread the sausage over it. Sprinkle with the rest of the celery.
