Spoon the dairy spread, the vanilla sugar, the egg and the icing sugar into a bowl.

Spread 2 slices of bread with butter and place them with the buttered side down in a sandwich maker.

Brush each slice of bread with a large tablespoon of jam (or lecurd).

Spoon a full piece of the cheese mixture over each slice of bread and cover with 2 more buttered slices of bread (the buttered side up).

Close the sandwich maker and toast the sandwiches until golden brown.

Repeat cooking step 2/5 with the rest of the ingredients and sprinkle just before serving with icing sugar.
