Poppy seeds
A nice English recipe. The vegetarian side dish contains the following ingredients: self-rising flour, sugar, butter, buttermilk (plus some more to cover), egg (beaten), poppy seeds (bag of 125 g), strawberry jam and mascarpone (a 250 g).

Preheat the oven to 225 ºC.

In a bowl mix baking flour with sugar and salt tip.

With fingertips rub butter through flour, so that crumbly mass is created.

Add buttermilk and half of egg (other half is not used).

Add poppyseed seeds and knead them into supple dough.

If dough is slightly too moist, add a little extra flour.

On a flowered work surface, express dough by hand into a piece of cloth measuring approx.

2 cm thick.

Stick 6 circles out of dough using protrusion.

Place the grounds on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, cover with a little buttermilk and bake until lightly browned in the middle of the oven for 15-20 minutes.

Scones serve lukewarm or cold with jam and mascarpone..
