Red cabbage stew with baked apples
A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, apples (Jonagoldof Elstar), red cabbage (300 g), vinegar, butter or margarine, cloves, bay leaves, potatoes and milk.
1 Cut the apple into cubes, cut other apples into slices.
Fry red cabbage with 1 dl of water, vinegar, 1 tablespoon of butter, cloves, bay leaf and apple cubes in a gentle 30 minutes.
In the meantime, peel, wash and cut potatoes.
Fry potatoes for 10 to 15 minutes in a pan with little water and pinch of salt.In frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of butter and bake apple slices for about 2 minutes, turning regularly.
Sprinkle with pepper.
Remove from red cabbage laurel and cloves.
Drain potatoes, crush with mashed pestle and stir with milk and butter until smooth puree.
Putting red coals through them and letting them get hot all over and over on soft fire.
Season with salt and pepper.
Place apple slices on it.
Serve with bratwurst..
