Heat the butter in a large frying pan and dust the meat with salt, pepper and flour.

Fry the meat in 3 portions. Scoop out of the pan and stir up the cakes.

Add the oil and shallots and fruit for about 4 minutes.

Put the meat back in the pan and pour in the stock and vinegar. Add the herbs and cloves.

Allow the meat to be cooked with the lid on the pan at the lowest setting for about 2 hours.

Add the pumpkin and dates and simmer for 20-30 minutes without the lid.

Season with salt and pepper.

Tasty with mashed potatoes or fries and a rucola salad.
