'upside down' pineapple pie with bacon

Heat the sugar in a saucepan with a thick bottom until it starts to turn dark, then add the cloves, pepper and butter.

Stir in a few minutes until smooth caramel.

Pour this into the cake pan and put the slices of bacon in it.

Allow the caramel to cool down for a while.

Preheat the oven to 200ºC.

Cut the pineapple slices in half and put them in the caramel.

Drape the puff pastry over the pineapple and push the overhanging edges in between the pineapple and the tart mold.

Bake the cake in the middle of the oven in 20-30 minutes until golden brown.

Take the cake out of the oven, let it cool for 10 minutes and then turn it over with a flat dish.
