Bring the cherries with the juice, the clove powder, the cinnamon and some sugar to the boil, turn the heat low, let it boil briefly and bind the moisture with all-tie or touched cornstarch.

Beat the mascarpone with the mixer with the sugar and milk.

Place the waffles on the plates. Divide the hot cherry compote over it. Spoon a large spoonful of the mascarpone cream next to it.

Delicious as a dessert or with a cup of coffee or tea.
