Yogurt-cucumber soup (cacik)


A nice Turkish recipe. The vegetarian starter contains the following ingredients: cucumber, salt, full yogurt, garlic, dried mint and olive oil (extra virgin).

Directions

  1. Cucumber cucumber, halve in length and scrape out with teaspoon seeds. Cut cucumber into small cubes. Put cubes in colander, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt over them and let cucumber drain for approx. 15 minutes. Rinse cucumber and pat dry with kitchen paper. Put yogurt in bowl. Peel the garlic and press it over it. Put in cucumber and fresh mint. Season with salt. Allow Cacik to cool down in refrigerator (at least 30 minutes).
  2. Cacik in four dishes or plates shovel and drip oil over it. Serve cold with Turkish bread.
