Apple broth
A tasty Dutch recipe. The vegetarian main course contains the following ingredients: freshly sour apples (Jonagold Elstar or gold dishes), vortexed apricots, butter, sugar and cinnamon powder.

Peel the apples and cut each in 4 pieces. Cut out the cores with a sharp knife. Cut the 4 pieces a bit smaller. Put the pieces in a pan.

Cut the apricots into small pieces and put them in the apples.

Add the butter, sugar and cinnamon. Add 2 tbsp water and stir everything together. Put the pan on low heat and slowly bring the apples to the boil.

Put the lid on the pan and leave the apples on low heat for about 5 minutes until they soften. Stir in carefully once; not too hard, because before you know it, apple syrup (adults call this apple compote) becomes a sort of applesauce. Serve the apple bread lukewarm or cold with the fries.
