Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  2. Cut open the vanilla pod with a sharp knife on one side lengthwise. Scrape the marrow out with the tip of the knife and add it to the almond paste.
  3. Beat the egg and mix half of it with the food and add the cardamom.
  4. Peel the apples and remove the core with an apple drill. Fill the apples with the mixture.
  5. Cut the puff pastry into equal pieces per portion that are large enough to cover an apple. Roll out the dough if necessary.
  6. Put an apple on each piece. Fold the dough over the apple until a nice bread roll with the folding side down on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
  7. Brush the bread with the rest of the egg and sprinkle the sugar over it.
  8. Cut the scraped vanilla pod into equal pieces and place it as a 'stalk' in the apple bulb.
  9. Fry the bread rolls in about 25 minutes until golden brown. Note: the vanilla pod is not edible! .
