Bacon steaks with chicory from the oven


A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, chicory ((about 650 g), halved in length), mashed potatoes (750 g, frozen), rusks (crumbled), olive oil, bacon steaks (straight), flour, onions (in thin slices) half rings) and sweet soy sauce.

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Bring plenty of water to the boil and boil the chicory for 5 minutes.
  3. Spoon the frozen mashed potatoes into the baking dish and place the halved chicory stalks on top.
  4. Mix the crumbs with 1 tbsp oil and salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle over the chicory.
  5. Bake the dish in the oven for 30 minutes.
  6. Rub the bacon patties with salt and pepper, cut each in 3 pieces and sprinkle with the flour.
  7. Heat the rest of the oil in a frying or frying pan and fry the bacon strips brown on both sides.
  8. Scoop the onion rings and fry them brown.
  9. Pour in 200 ml water and the ketjapmarinademanis, cover the pan and simmer the bacon strips for about 20 minutes.
  10. Turn them occasionally.
  11. Spoon some chicory with mashed potatoes on each plate, place the bacon patties and pour the onion gravy over it..
