Baguette with herb butter and cheese

Cut slanting notches in the top of the baguette.

Mix the butter with the parsley, basil and garlic and season with salt and pepper.

Spoon the herb butter between the notches in the bread with a spoon and sprinkle with the cheese.

Bake the bread on the side of the barbecue (not on a direct fire) until it is golden brown and crisp and the cheese has melted. When baking, lay a sheet of aluminum foil under the bread so that the bottom does not burn.
