Bean balls with bacon

Bake the bacon cubes in a dry, hot frying pan. Remove from the shortening and keep separate.

Fry the bean balls for about 10 minutes in the bacon fat until they are tender and brown. Spoon the bacon back into the pan and warm for another minute.

Serve the bean balls with apple syrup, gherkins and silver onions. Delicious with mashed potatoes.
