A tasty French recipe. The vegetarian starter contains the following ingredients: flour, butter or margarine, milk, eggs, salt and pepper and gruyere (cheese grated).

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 225 ° C or gas oven 5.
  2. Top bowl of flour.
  3. In a large saucepan, bring butter with 1 dl of water and milk slowly to the boil.
  4. Take a pan of fire.
  5. Add flour and stir into dough ball.
  6. Put the pan back on fire and let roux cook over medium heat in 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Return mixture to bowl and allow to cool to lukewarm.
  8. Then stir 4 eggs one by one through roux until smooth.
  9. Flavor batter with salt and pepper.
  10. Stir in half of cheese.
  11. Grease the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  12. Mash the batter with 2 tablespoons in a large circle on the baking tray.
  13. Loosen the last egg and cover the dough circle with a brush.
  14. Sprinkle with rest of grated cheese.
  15. Spread the dough in the middle of the oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  16. Gougère serve lukewarm and let everyone break off pieces..
