Preheat the oven grill to the highest setting.

Mix the minced meat with salt and freshly ground pepper and knead well.

Divide the minced meat into 4 equal pieces and form into hamburgers.

Brush the burgers thinly with olive oil and fry in a hot grill pan in 4-6 minutes until nicely browned and just done.

In the meantime, place the cut-up rolls with the cutting edges upwards on the grill grid and roast them for 10 minutes under the hot grill element for 1-2 minutes until they just start coloring.

Place the bottom of the buns on plates and put a leaf of lettuce and a hamburger.

Divide the slices of tomato and gherkin over them and place some wafer-thin onion on them.

Create a tad of mustard, mayonnaise and tomato ketchup.

Place the top of the rolls on top.
