Roast the walnuts in a dry, hot frying pan and finely chop them. Cook the farfalle according to the instructions on the package. In the meantime, cook the broccoli al dente in about 5 minutes.

Heat the butter in a (stalk) pan and add the flour. Keep stirring until a roux occurs. Then slowly add the milk and stir with a whisk into a creamy sauce.

Add the garlic and cheese and stir until the cheese has melted. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix the cheese sauce and the broccoli through the pasta. Sprinkle with the walnuts.
