Directions

  1. Grate the peel of the orange. Cut the white part of the orange and divide the fruit into segments.
  2. Halve these parts and do them with the dates and figs in a thick-bottomed pan. Add the orange zest, 100 ml of water and the other ingredients and bring to a boil so that the sugar dissolves.
  3. On a low setting, stirring occasionally, simmer slowly for 30-35 minutes until the chutney is thickened.
  4. Pour the warm chutney into the jam jar, turn the lid on and let the pot cool down in reverse. Let the chutney stand for a day in a cool, dark place.
  5. Delicious with meat, chicken and cheese.
