Filo pastry packages with white cheese cubes and honey

A tasty recipe. The dessert contains the following ingredients: white cheese cubes (crumbled), Greek extra virgin olive oil (extra to brush), liquid honey (extra for it), dried oregano, filo pastry, fresh thyme (only the leaves), sesame seeds (a few) and olive oil.



  1. Mix the cheese cubes, extra virgin olive oil, honey and oregano in a bowl and set aside. Place a sheet of filo pastry in front of each package and brush it in with a little extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkle a few tiger leaves and put a second sheet of dough on it. Cut the sheets in half widthwise so that you have the basis for 2 packages. Repeat this 3 more times so that you have a total of 8 sheets of dough.
  2. Divide the fetal mixture into 8 portions, scoop the filling in the middle of the pieces of dough, gently press the heaps flat with the back of a spoon and make neat rectangles. Fold the 2 long sides of the dough over the filling first and then make a net package. Roast the sesame seeds for a few minutes in a dry non-stick frying pan over medium heat until they are golden brown and smell delicious and set aside for a moment.
  3. Pour a layer of 1/2 cm olive oil in a large frying pan and place on medium heat. Because hot oil is a blood link, you have to keep a close eye on the pan and not move. When the oil is at temperature, carefully place the packages with the folded side down in the pan, and bake the layered dough nicely golden brown. Turn them over and fry them for about 1 min. Until the other side is golden brown.
  4. Carefully remove the packages with a slotted spoon and let them drain on a piece of kitchen paper. Place them on 4 plates and finish them with a generous splash of liquid honey and the roasted sesame seeds. Delicious as a dessert, as a cheese or with a tuft of green lettuce with lemon dressing as an exciting snack.
