Cut the underside of the stalk chicory and cut the chicory in half. Remove the hard core. Remove the leaves, wash and dry them.

Fry the bacon in a frying pan without oil or butter in approx. 5 min. Crunchy. Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper.

Chop the onion and finely chop the garlic. Add the oil to the shortening and fry the onion for 2 minutes. Add the garlic and the oregano and cook for 1 min.

Add the chicory and stir-fry over a high heat for 2 minutes. Spoon the bacon at the last minute.
