Garden pea soup with smoked herring


A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: fish, (liquid) margarine, farmers soup vegetables (350 g), fish stock, garden peas (extra fine (frozen, 450 g)), smoked herring fillet (about 200 g), crème fraîche (cup, a 125 ml), Frisian rye bread (pack of a 250 g) and herb butter (100 g).

Directions

  1. Heat margarine in a soup pot.
  2. Soup vegetables for 2 minutes.
  3. Add bouillon tablets, 750 ml of water and garden peas and bring to the boil.
  4. Cook the soup for about 10 minutes.
  5. Remove and store garden peas from pan a few spoons.
  6. Mix leftover soup with hand blender or in food processor.
  7. Gripe herring fillets and cut into thin strips.
  8. Add whole garden peas to soup again.
  9. Season the soup with salt and pepper.
  10. Distribute soup over four large soup plates.
  11. Scoop crème fraîche in the middle of each plate and divide herring fillets over it.
  12. Serving with rye bread and herb butter..
