Grate the ginger coarse. Slice the cumin seeds and roast in a pan until a slight smell occurs. Then turn down the heat.

Add the peanut oil and ginger to the cumin seeds and heat over low heat (do not boil). Pour back in a bottle or in a jar and leave to stand for 2 hours (afterwards the taste becomes more intense).
