Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  2. Peel the potatoes and cut into slices as thin as possible. You can also plan them in thin slices with a cheese slicer, peeler or food processor.
  3. Grease the oven dish with oil or butter. Clean the garlic and cut finely. Ris the leaves of the sprigs of thyme.
  4. Mix the garlic and the leaves of thyme through the potato, sprinkle with (freshly ground) pepper and salt if necessary and spread over the oven dish.
  5. Pour the cream over it and sprinkle with the cheese.
  6. Fry the potato gratin in the middle of the oven for about 75 minutes until golden brown and done.
  7. Cover after approx. 30 min loosely with aluminum foil so that the gratin is not too dark.
  8. After 50 minutes, check that the gratin is cooked. This is the case if you can easily insert a knife completely. Garnish with the rest of the sprigs of thyme.
