Preheat the oven grill or preheat the oven to 240 ° C.

Boil the pasta in plenty of boiling water according to the instructions on the package.

Cut the underside of the stalk chicory and cut the chicory in half. Remove the hard core and cut the chicory into 4 pieces.

Cook the chicory for 5 minutes in plenty of boiling water and drain.

Mix the penne, chicory, tomato cubes, oregano and half of the ground cheese in the oven dish. Season with salt and pepper.

Cut the crusts from the bread and squeeze out the garlic. Crumble the bread in a bowl and mix it with the garlic and the rest of the ground cheese.

Distribute over the pasta in the baking dish. Sprinkle the oil over it.

Bake the dish in the oven or under the grill for about 12 minutes until there is a golden brown crust. Serve immediately.
