Directions

  1. Bring water with salt to the boil. Put the kale through it and let the vegetables go to a low level.
  2. Put the potatoes on the cabbage, bring to the boil and cook until tender in 20 minutes. Put the smoked sausage on the potatoes for 15 minutes during the cooking process.
  3. Remove the smoked sausage from the pan. Drain the kale and potatoes and collect the cooking liquid.
  4. Mash the cabbages and potatoes. Add butter, vinegar and some of the cooking liquid and stir into a smooth stew. Heat for 2-3 minutes with stirring. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cut the sausage into pieces and place it on the stew.
  6. Delicious with piccalilli, silver onions and pickles.
