Let the butter melt, but do not discolour.

Mix the dates, walnuts, sugar, cinnamon and the flour in a bowl. Stir in the melted butter and knead into a cohesive dough.

Preheat the oven to 180ºC. With small hands, shape small balls of the dough and if necessary press them into a decorated cookie mold.

Bake the cookies in the middle of the oven in about 20 minutes until tender and golden brown.

Allow to cool on a rack and serve with tea or coffee. Keep the cookies in a cookie jar.
