Lettuce with croutons

A tasty Dutch recipe. The starter contains the following ingredients: meat, cabbage lettuce, (old) white bread (in small dice), baking bacon (in strips), liquid honey, white wine vinegar, olive oil, butter, garlic (finely chopped) and coarse mustard.

Directions

  1. Wash the lettuce in a large bowl of water, leave the leaves on the stalk.
  2. Let the lettuce in its entirety drain upside down in a colander.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil with 1 tablespoon of butter in a frying pan over low heat.
  4. Bake the pieces of bread in 3-4 minutes until golden brown, in the last minute put half of the garlic through.
  5. Take the croutons out of the pan and let them cool so that they become crispy.
  6. Fry the bacon on a low heat in a dry frying pan.
  7. Put the rest of the oil, the rest of the garlic, the mustard, honey and vinegar in a (jam) jar, turn the lid on and shake vigorously.
  8. Then season the dressing to taste with salt and pepper.
  9. Dab the cabbage lettuce dry, also between the leaves.
  10. Put the lettuce on a dish and drip it with the dressing.
  11. Sprinkle the croutons and bacon over them and serve immediately..
