Mackerel in white wine marinade
A nice Mediterranean recipe. The starter contains the following ingredients: fish, coriander (seeds), lemon (scrubbed), olive oil, garlic (in slices), white wine vinegar, thyme, bay leaf and smoked mackerel.

Sprinkle the coriander seeds on a plank and crush them with a wooden spoon or broad knife. Cut the lemon into thin slices.

Heat the oil in a saucepan with the garlic cloves for 3 minutes. Add the vinegar, coriander seeds, sprigs of thyme and bay leaf. Bring everything to the boil and cook the marinade gently for 5 minutes. Pour the marinade into a bowl.

Carefully remove the skin from the smoked mackerel and remove the pieces of fish from the bone. Place the pieces of fish in the marinade. Cover the dish and marinate the fish for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator.

Let the fish reach room temperature in about 45 minutes before serving. Tasty with warm toast.
