Preheat the oven to 180ºC.

Mix the oatmeal with the butter, caster sugar, syrup, cinnamon and a pinch of salt.

Spat the egg through the mixture and divide the dough into 8 equal balls.

Press the cookies with some space flat on the baking sheet and bake in the oven in about 25 minutes until golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
