Heat the oil in a thick-bottomed pan. Add the corn and place the lid on it.

Melt the butter and in the meantime let the popcorn pop on medium-high. If the sound stops at the lid, the popcorn is ready.

Mix the popcorn with the melted butter and sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Shake and serve immediately.
