Halve the cucumbers in the length and put in the sparkling jars.

Put the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil. This becomes the make-up liquid.

Remove from the heat and add the vinegar, the mustard seed, the dill and the salt.

Pour the flavored liquid over the vegetables and immediately close the lid.

Allow to cool to room temperature and then leave in the fridge for at least 2 days.
