A tasty Dutch recipe. The vegetarian pastry contains the following ingredients: white caster sugar, milk, whipped cream and syrup fruit syrup.

Stir the sugar, milk and cream in a small pan with a thick bottom and heat everything on very low heat until the sugar is dissolved. Stir occasionally.

Then bring the mixture to a boil on a slightly higher heat. Add the fruit syrup and let it boil down until it has the right thickness. You can check this by briefly stirring the mixture and then dropping a drop in a bowl with cold water. If the drop in the water retains its shape, the mixture is sufficiently boiled (this takes about 10 minutes).

Remove the pan from the heat and stir the mixture well with a wooden spoon until it becomes opaque and you hear the spoon scratching over the bottom of the pan.

Pour the sugar mixture into the container covered with parchment paper in one go. You can also pour breastplate into cookie molds. Let the breast plate cool down until white spots appear. Then cut the breast plate into pieces or gently press it out of the cake mold.
