In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar, vanilla sugar, ricotta, orange zest and the egg and mix into a smooth mixture.

Heat a layer of sunflower oil in a deep frying pan to 170ºC.

With 2 tablespoons, scoop out a scoop of batter, lower into the oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes. Fry the rest of the fritters.

Allow the balls to cool down on kitchen paper and roll through some sugar.

Serve with melted chocolate or jam.
