Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
  2. Mix the sauerkraut with the mustard and sour cream. Fry the bacon cubes for 3-4 minutes in a dry, hot frying pan. Remove them from the pan and store the shortening.
  3. Drill the core from 1 apple with skin. Peel the remaining 2 apples and cut into cubes. Mix the apple cubes, raisins and the bacon through the sauerkraut.
  4. Put the sauerkraut mixture in the baking dish and distribute the rösti over it. Cut the drilled apple into thin slices and place them in the middle of the sauerkraut. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and pour the bacon fat over the apple slices.
  5. Bake the dish in the middle of the oven in 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
