Directions

  1. Heat two spoonfuls of olive oil in a pan with a thick bottom.
  2. Add half of the onion and half of the garlic and cook on soft heat for four minutes until they become softer and smell nice.
  3. Take care that they do not turn brown.
  4. In the meantime, cut the tomatoes into pieces and add them with the thyme and the oregano to the onion mixture.
  5. Bake for two minutes and stir regularly.
  6. Then put the lid on the pan and let the tomatoes simmer gently in a quarter of an hour until they are soft and release their moisture.
  7. Put the hand blender into the pan and puree everything into a nice smooth sauce.
  8. Let it boil for a maximum of ten minutes if necessary until the thickness is good.
  9. When the sauce is very sour, add a teaspoon of sugar.
  10. Heat the rest of the olive oil in a frying pan and gently fry the remaining onion and garlic in three minutes.
  11. Stir in the red pepper and paprika powder and fry briefly.
  12. Scoop the stir-on prawns through the onion mixture and let them thaw in the scoop.
  13. Then turn the heat higher and fry the shrimp until they start to color.
  14. Stir in the newly made tomato sauce and let the shrimp with tomato sauce simmer for another four minutes.
  15. Serve the prawns with rice or bread.
