Peel the potatoes and the swede. Halve the large potatoes and cut the turnip coarsely. Slice the chives.

Boil the potatoes and turnip in water with salt in 15-20 min. Until done. Drain and then let dry for a few minutes.

Put the potatoes back in the pan. Meanwhile, place a small pan over medium heat and put in the milk and the cloves.

Crush the garlic clove with the side of a knife and add to the milk and cloves. Bring gently to the boil and then remove from the heat.

Remove the cloves and garlic from the milk. Pour the milk over the cooked potatoes and stamp with a puree mash to puree.

Stir in the chives through the puree. Taste and season to taste with pepper and salt. Stir the butter through the mash and serve.
