Directions

  1. Fry the bacon strips in a thick-bottomed frying pan and scoop them out of the pan. Add the butter to the shortening and fry the onions until golden brown. Spoon the fennel and fry them around light brown. Add the sugar, wine vinegar and 200 ml water and simmer the vegetables for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the mashed potatoes according to the instructions on the package and stir in the cream cheese. Spoon a large spoonful of mashed potatoes on each plate and smooth. Spoon the fennel and sprinkle the bacon over it.
