Sticky walnut pie
A tasty american recipe. The dessert contains the following ingredients: flour (extra to dust), white caster sugar, cold butter (in small blocks), egg (split), walnuts (unsalted (110 g)), butter (salted), granulated sugar (fine), kitchen syrup (pot 500 g) and whipped cream (250 ml).

Sift the flour, caster sugar and a pinch of salt over a bowl. Add the butter and quickly knead to crumbs. Slowly knead 1 tbsp cold water and the egg yolk into a cohesive dough. Wrap in cling film and leave to rest for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Roll out the dough with the rolling pin into a round piece of Ø 27 cm. Put in the baking dish and press lightly. Cover with cling film and put in the refrigerator.

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC. Chop the walnuts coarsely and do the salted butter, sugar, syrup and a pinch of salt in a saucepan with a thick base. Heat with a wooden spoon 10 minutes on low heat, until the sugar is melted. Stir in the cream, turn the heat a little higher and stir for 15 minutes until the caramel has thickened.

Carefully pour the hot filling evenly into the oven dish. Bake for about 25 minutes in the oven. Allow to cool on a grid. Serve lukewarm or cold.
